Gathering Hope House is a community-based recovery program for Lorain County adults managing mental health conditions. We provide a safe, welcoming place where members take part in meaningful work, pick up new skills, and strengthen their network of support.
We follow the Clubhouse model, where members and staff work side by side to keep the day running—preparing meals, greeting visitors, organizing activities, caring for the building, and supporting one another. Everyone has a role and the chance to contribute in meaningful ways.
Our programs are free for Lorain County residents age 18+ living with a mental health condition. Members choose how to spend their time, developing skills, joining groups, taking part in wellness activities, or helping with clubhouse operations.
We offer:
• Daily work and volunteer opportunities that build skills and prepare for goals
• Peer connections and a supportive community
• Social activities, meals, and wellness groups
• Transportation assistance, housing referrals, and goal-setting support
• A consistent, low-stress environment that promotes independence
Located on the Lorain–Sheffield border, we are part of the Clubhouse International network, used in more than 30 countries to help people return to work, school, and active roles in the community.
Gathering Hope House is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). Local support helps us provide meals, transportation, supplies, and opportunities that strengthen members’ health, self-sufficiency, and participation in community life.
